I’m ghassene,
and I communicate
information visually.

I’m an experienced communication & design professional and I’ve worked with multidisciplinary teams and experts at the international level on the development of global communication campaigns, infographics, visual identity, presentations and research reports — all for print & digital.

I am curious about how visual communication can enhance information perception within individuals, communities and across societies, especially within the global socio-economic, environmental and urban contexts.

I am fluent in EN / FR / ES, &  ع.

Innovation Roadmap
United Nations High Commissioner
for Refugees

The idea was to create a cohesive and hollistic diagram that clearly highlights the UNHCR Innovation Service’s process flow in developing innovative tools and methodologies.

The main challenge was to graphically represent each step present within the diagram - this was achieved by creating abstract and  simple iconography that isn’t literal in their translation.

Cash Transfer Resilience Tool
International Rescue Committee (IRC) / Small Enterprise Education and Promotion Network (SEEP)

I developed & designed a 40-page tool aimed at assisting field operators at maintaining cash access in areas at risk of natural and man-made disasters.

The main component of this report is a disaster identification matrix used by field experts in order to identify and categorize the type of risk.

The matrix tool was text-heavy and it was therefore important to use a simple and effective way to quickly identify each risk category.

A combination of colours, shapes and letters were used to achieve this - this categorization allowed the user to quickly navigate the matrix.

Bekaa Valley Tent Coding and Classification System

United Nations High Commissioner
for Refugees / Innovation Service

I was tasked with creating a visual representation and explanatory diagram for the UNHCR Bekaa Valley (Lebanon) Refugee camp tent classification system.

It was crucial to have an easy to understand coding system by clearly identifying each module and its purpose.

Part of a technical document, these two visuals were designed with simplicity in mind.

Logo Design
Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD)

Selected Visual Identity proposal for the 8th edition of the TICAD conference.

The visual is structured into three distinct elements: The African Continent, with Tunisia, the host-country, highlited in a darker shade. Japan’s presence was represented by its national symbol: the red-crimson sun, known as the Nisshoki.  A stylized “8”, represents capacity-building, technological advancement and technical cooperation.

These graphic elements are complemented by a modern and bold typographic choice, representing strength and resilience.

Youth Entrepreneurship & Innovation Multi-Donor Trust Fund Annual Report
African Development Bank

I love putting together research reports - especially if they are information-dense. This 60-page annual report summarizes the AfDB’s Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation Fund’s financial report and project implementation.

Because such information-heavy reports tend to be overwhelming and crowded, a simple typographic and colour hierarchy was implemented in order to let the pages breath, and the information stand out
.

Sections were delimited by contextual  and project-specific photography, allowing the user to related to the information being represented.
